My son is leaving Great Lakes tomarrow for San Diego to continue his A school for Mineman. What is the best transportation from the airport to Point Loma base.
My son is currently in A school in Great Lakes. He is currently in his final week for mineman and it has been tough for him. He is currently behind in his class and trying to catch up. Will this have a negative affect on him or will he be given xtra time to complete before going to San Diego or will he have to go undesignated for a time.
Gary,
Thanks for the information. The ET page has a lot of great information. We will "wing it" for the Thanksgiving holiday and see what happens.
Thanks,
Al
Allen,
Here is the link for the ET Rating which has A school information:

Every command is different. Your son will have and should be able to tell you his exact liberty schedule for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday...
take care,
Gary
My son just graduated from RTC last Friday, Oct. 12. He will be at Great Lakes for A school in the ET program. Does anyone know approximately how long ETs are at A school and if they get liberty for Thanksgiving and is it more than one day.
Thanks
Al
Ronald,
ABE "A" school is approximately five weeks and ABF & ABH "A" schools are six weeks in duration.
Hope this helps...
Gary
Hello Dads,
My daughter will graduate from RTC next Friday and then on to Pensacola, i'm hoping she will start school right away but we'll see. Does anyone know how long is A School for ABH Aircraft Handler?
Thank you
Ron
Thanks Dads.
My son is there and is pretty sure he's got a two month wait. Was allegedly supposed to start classes Sept 4 but was held over in GL because of Hurricane Isaac. Didn't get to Pensacola until Sept 10 after an August 24 graduation. While he doesn't like it, he's enjoying the facilities and some of the trips that are planned.
