Sounds logical to me, thanks Chris.
Yes, it all counts. Usually, right after boot camp the new Sailors don't have that much leave built up. Our daughter, even after A School, took two weeks before reporting to her ship, and had to work some days at the local Recruiter's office to be paid. They aren't members of Congress, you know, and take leave anytime they want. They must have it on the books. LOL!
They have told my son that he gets 14 days leave after he finishes A school. Now he hears they won't get that. 2 questions: 1) Does this 14 day leave (if he gets it) count against his normal leave accumulation? 2) Are they supposed to get some sort of leave either after Boot Camp or A school?
Hi all, my daughter is in A school at Great Lakes for DC. She just got bumped to phase 2 and should be finished first week of November. Then, Japan!
Jim:
PT is important. They will have scheduled PT evnets.
Hi Jim,
Yeah, July 1 PIR was incredible in so many ways.
Got to chat and shake hands with Master Chief of the Navy, too!!!
And, my son-in-law was able to join us at the last minute. That was really special for my son. My son-in-law is Army Green Beret - two tours in Iraq - he has been a real inspiration and source of encouragement for my son.
Anyway - with "A" school - I was wondering more about very general things like: is PT mandatory? how often do they get leave? just general stuff - it will all come I'm sure...just so excited for my boy.
Happy 4th!
Hi all,
My son just graduated July 1st. What an amazing day. He is an ET - on to "A" school so looking for information on curriculum, schedule...anything we can find to continue to share in his process.
Thanks everyone!
