I talked the his recruiter and she said he's good to go. The Harley Rider's Edge course he took last summer, a registered bike and insurance is all he needs to ride off base.

Timothy, my son called today (first time I have heard from him in a couple of weeks) he is coming home in June and really can't wait to get here and it's funny as he was talking about riding his bike.

Timothy-probably your best at home bet to answer that question would be to get in touch with his recruiter.  If for some reason he doesn't know the answer, he can sure find out.  Just a thought.

From a Biker Dad in Arizona, enjoy your time with your son!

Shane, the problem might be keeping him off of mine and on his own.  He seems to think mine is better.

Timothy:

When my son came home right after "A" school for 15 days, he rode his bike everyday.(could not have kept him from it)

I have a question maybe someone can help answer. My son will be home from A school in a little less than a month. He is trying to find out if he's OK to ride his cycle while he is home and has been getting different answers depending on who he asks. Does anyone know if he needs his Traffic Safety Class completed to ride off base? He understands that he will need them for on-base driving privileges.

If you can watch CNN on TV or go to www.cnn.com, they are doing a very good job of the coverage.  Our personnel in Japan are already assisting local authorities to map the affected areas, launching recon planes and helicopters to determine where assistance is needed.  Again, all personnel in Japan are safe, accounted for, and there has been no damage to the US facilities.

Reports are that all personnel in Japan are safe and accounted for.  One ship at the Seal Beach facility in California was moved out to sea, but reports say they're keeping all ships in port in Hawaii.  Whether that is correct or not, I don't know.

William, I hope your son is ok since the earthquake hit. Our prayers go out to all those stationed in Japan.
