Seems we may be in for another round of PCS holds. Some of that happened about this time last year. Then the floods that hit Millington is causing some added delays. Sailors looking for orders need patience as they remain on "hold". While our sailor is still in training, his orders have not yet arrived, so far just a month later than normal. This should not affect those going from BC to ATT to A school to C school. It will have more impact on orders to the fleet when schools are completed.

Clay H got it right, in the Navy it is what it is . . . . We wish all your sailors well and success at their chosen school.

Ang doesnt know yet, she's on hold til.... in the Navy it is what it is. Im figuring the girls will be in this area til at least Dec.... I hope to celebrate her 21st w/ her.....
I'd like to add my and my familes condolances to the fallen cadet....
Son has decided on a college that only has Army ROTC.... Id rather he didnt continue..... but he wants to be a Military Band director, w/ a military history minor.... I dont think they shoot at bands any more unless theyre really really bad do they?

Sorry to hear your news. We have all lost a brother/son, a member of the family.

You may not be aware, we lost a Sailor the other day. He was run over and killed at Dam Neck. He was in C School. Such a loss.

Maybe a bit OT, but I don't think so

April 25, is ANZAC Day.
"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
below the crosses row on row
that mark our place. . ."

Australia remembers those who died in foreign places on April 25.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
(Laurence Binyon (1869-1943)

I've been gob-smacked with the reality of what our Sailors, Marines, Soldiers and Airmen are facing.

SteveB - Yes, Cody PIR'd on 9/11/09 and got to come home for 16 days over Christmas stand down. I have been up to see him once since then in early March. And - he is a different person.

Gary T - Yes, he is going into small arms on the carrier. If he knows his exact assignment, he has not said. I guess I'll find out when I read his orders when he comes home on Friday.
