Congrats!!!!! It has been a long journey for both of you but now the fun begins. Now you get to know your new Sailor all over again. Like us it was fun getting to know the New Man before us. Enjoy every minute you can and all the changes. It keeps getting better.

Finishing up an amazing weekend here at GL. Watched our son graduate on Friday. He then checked in A School at GL and we have spent the rest of the weekend with him. Went out for a great dinner Friday night....then Gurnee Mall...then Chicago today...he has to report back by 20 hundred tonight...no longer a kid...now a sailor

I understand. I talked with James last night he got his C School orders and on top of that got the ones he wanted. We are all excited now. I also asked him about Drill Team. He said in INDOC to ask about it. At all the training bases they have a Drill Team and have info there but you have to ask to find out. He also said it was a great way to pass time. Better than Duty.

No, James is in A school at another base. I've been asked not to say precisely where. Not trying to be cute, but they're a bit squirrly about that. Maybe the information will be general enough. I asked him about it, and he said he's been enjoying doing flags, wearing the gators, and the ceremony, and it beats other duties :)

Sorry I have been away. I forgot to ask is your James still in GL? My James is getting his C School orders today and I know I will talk to him tonight and will get the info for Drill Team for you but will be for GL. James had time for it as well as school and really enjoyed it.

A school can be a temptation. They've been cooped up for a while; most are on their first separation from home. Now they seem to be their own bosses, and learning to handle that is part of the process.
I visited last weekend, and it's interesting to see how he's developing. People's personality begins to show up in how they spend their time. Competition is driving good study habits. And still, the teamwork started at BC is showing up here.

Cameron Dad, He will received a LOT of very intense quality training. He of course will also be running like a marine before long! He will just have to play the game at Great Lakes a little longer.
