Mark, how horrible. To be forced by your government to live in Monterrey!!! How heartless can they be?
Just think, they're going to be spoiled for living in MD ever again.

Our Sailor is leaving GL at 2:00 am for A School. Due to the storm, we didn't get to graduation.

Well, my wife stalked my son's flight to Monterey. It landed about 5:10 our time, but we haven't heard from him yet. He sat at O'Hare from 0230 to 10:15 this morning, but his flight was one of the few that got out pretty close to ontime.

hahah Mark -- Zach shipped out that night from GL to Gulfport... so i got the joy and pleasure in driving in Friday nights snow / wind storm!! it was NASTY! but we got home into Michigan about 0230hrs.
Zach and another Sailor from his division went together.. he said all the flying really sucked!! Got to the O'hare about 0230 hrs, and then his flight left at 10.30am... so it was alot of waiting! Then he went to ATL and there he sat and waited again... he was suppose to have an hour layover, but it turned into 5 hrs....

But he is in 60 degree weather, and has his cell phone.. and he and his buddy got roomed together.. he said his room is just like a hotel room! he is loving life now!!!

I talked to him quite a bit yesterday, he said that he has settled in pretty quick, a few other guys came in and they talked about the base and some of the do's and don'ts... but all in all.. it looks like he is going to have a good time!

it is just VERY nice to have communication with him!

Jim, Mark was saying the same thing yesterday. It feels weird to have to make a decision. We had to help him with restaurant menus at first. By yesterday evening he was doing better. He is concerned because his class doesn't start until May, so he will be doing busy work, but having a lot of time to do what he wants.

Ok Dan, how'd you get the pic on there so fast? Did you bring a scanner with you?

Hello Everyone. Well, my son is finished with RTC and will ship out at 2am Tuesday morning. He is heading to Monterey, CA to language school, where he will be for the next 15 months. Anyone have a sailor at DLI?
