Sounds right Greg. Your son was probably one of the first, considering up to 4 divisions of 80+ recruits each. Takes a while for all of them to get to call.

our son PIR 1-15-10 did BS started 8pm till 8AM capping cerimony till 10 AM then back to barracks and chow. Called 2PM GL time.
The first 6 hours of BS are simulated quiet voyage, second half hell breaks loose simulated terrorist attacks. Tons of fun, and training for what ship life is like as well.

Ok...that all makes sense now.
Thanks.

I really don't think it's ever earlier than afternoon. There is the ceremony and then they go back to the barracks, shower, clean, eat, etc. Some then have watch or duty. One mother on N4M didn't get a call for days!

lol...N4Ms says that for BS that starts at 8pm, calls start after the capping ceremony the next morning?...
Lots of conflicting info on this...

I said MOST, if someone got their call at 8:05 they can keep it to themselves. LOL
Comment by John Frank on January 26, 2010 at 7:35am
most calls did't start coming in until after 3 their time.

John,
Definitely!...that would really suck. Our son's Div had BS21 last night, so we're waiting on the call this morning :)

It was my son who was held at RTC over the weekend. He had to be back each evening. But it was better than the recruits who were at O'Hare Saturday morning.

I have to say, I'm a little jealous. I did BC and A-School both at GL.
