Carlos, I hear that from our sailor in Pensacola too. I am not sure if that's a for sure depending on classes scheduled and roll backs. It sounds typical that instructors don't want to be there either. However, it sounds like they may schedule classes to not be going on at that time so does that mean they go home? Maybe someone else knows for sure but my philosophy is to not to bank on things based on Navy rumor. I hope they are right!
Hello,
My son just graduated from Great Lakes about a week ago and now he is in his A school in Pensacola. He told me that he will be getting Christmas off because the school closes. He just cant tell me the dates yet. Is there an event calendar that I can refer to to get these dates or is anyone familiar with the holiday leave schedule. I just need to ask for this time as of now from work so I can be home when he comes home for the holidays.
Thank You
I believe that it will count against your son's leave time. As to whether he can work some at the local recruiters to save some of that time, I'm not sure. Probably can if he can get it ok'd.
My Son finishes A School mid-September. He will be able to come home before reporting to his first duty station. Does that time count towards his leave time? Will he be able to work at his recruiters to save some of that time.
Thanks for the welcome. Our Sailor is just getting started on A school. He was real excited to get there. It sounds like a great place and to visit too.
Pensacola is a nice place. I am sure you will enjoy visiting your sailor while in training there.
PIR 7/15/2016 now in Pensacola.
My son graduated today and leaves tomorrow for Pensacola.
My son will hopefully be headed to Pensacola shortly after 18 March.
