The ship is back in the camera frame again. On a lark, I sent an email to the webmaster of the page (in English) and this was his reply:

Dear Kerry,
Understanding your feelings I point the web camera to USS Enterprise again.

Its good to learn something....  I assumed the degree mark was automatically  F, but see the now it only represents the word degree.  Makes sense and I appreciate your research.  :-)

my science lesson for the day:  there are three temperature scales used- Fahrenheit, Celsius, and Kelvin.  The later is generally only used in scientific work and references absolute zero.  The "°" denotes degrees - to be clear you'll generally see something like 32°F to denote 32 degrees Fahrenheit (which is 0°C which is 273°K)--- we scientific types are pretty OCD about this stuff....sorry

I always thought the little circle by the number was specifically Farenheit, but.....

BTW....I've been updating the video area with tons of vids...a bunch of carriers and a couple from the Big "E"....wander to the top menu bar and click Videos to check them out...

I can't see a F or C, just the degree symbol....but that's why I checked with Weather.com to make sure!!!!!  It was a nice day for your sailors there!!!

Oh good!!!  LOL, I kinda figured that, but I saw the Farenheit symbol.  I didn't figure Greece got that cold!!!!

Greece follows the metric system - those are Celsius temps.............Athens is about 71 degrees F today.....

Thanks Kerry. Did you happen to notice the weather forecast, 22 for a high!!  It had the Fahrenheit symbol so its cold there.  Still sunny and beautiful.

Also check out the Navy's channel on YouTube.  My son is Mass Communications and some of the videos are his.   They are very current.  Not always exciting, but you may see your Sailor.
