Hi Barry... Nice to meet another Colorado Dad!

A lot of the same Tracey, he is on night shift now, so pretty boring long nights.  He graduated A school distinguished also, so we will see what happens with that, he is currently on the accelerated track.  He loves the travel opportunities, which is what he wanted also.  Big kudos to her testing for E5 already, that is fantastic.  My son said he met your daughter once, however, they are in different sections.

My daughter has been there since July. She has been to the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Rome, and Florence. She says that air fares are very inexpensive so she has travelled a lot on her long weekends. She has been to Amsterdam, Zurich, and Warsaw where she took a day and went to Auschwitz. Very educational for her and the group she was with. She plans on going to Greece next month and Munich and Paris this summer. I don't think she loves her job overall there. I think it is pretty long tedious days working a lot on the gate. So I don't imagine any of them love that too much. But she joined the Navy to see the world. Her goal when she joined was to be stationed in Italy. So she got that and she is taking advantage of it for sure. She graduated top three of her A school class so she was promoted to E4 a couple months ago due to that and was able to take the E5 test last week. It is crazy that she has only been in for about 13 months and is testing for E5 when she entered as an E1. So it seems like she is doing well in spite of not loving the job so much. She absolutely loves being in Italy. How does your son feel about being there?

Hey Dale, My daughter wanted to go AIRR but her vision, while correctable to 20/20, was not good enough without correction to do the AIRR thing. Did your son make it through AIRR school? I understand it is a tough school to make it through!

Hi Dale, do you know where your Sailor will be stationed?

Comment by Rich on March 16, 2017 at 5:45pm

Tracey, he flew out of DIA on Thanksgiving day, so not too long, but long enough to get some travelling in.  He was in Paris last weekend, and has traveled up the Amalfi Coast, and Rome a couple times.  Is your daughter enjoying her time over there?

Another MA from Colorado here. You are right I hadn't seen anyone from Colorado for a while. Our Sailor went from AIRR to MA just recently.

Rich. you just commented on my daughters pic in the MA page. I live in Windsor. How long has you son been in Italy?

Looks like no Colorado posts in many years.  My name is Rich, I live in Parker.  My son is in Italy.  Any other Colorado peeps still out there?
