I got my week 3 phone call from Lauren yesterday morning. Completely caught me off guard. She called my cell, so my work day basically came to a standstill, while the entire company stood there listening and pantomiming things to tell her. lol.

She has been surprisingly upbeat and reports enjoying herself a great deal. Mind you...we went through this with our son last year, and he was not so upbeat throughout the communications while he was in boot. She is going to find out soon what language she will learn...she is going to be a CTI. We were also told that after boot graduation her company has to remain there for a week...with full liberty privlidges...because they are a push company. Wish I had known that in advance, I may have asked for more time off work to spend with her there. Ah well, the weekend will be good.

Yes Larry, it is a great feeling to see our little girls go off and do something so meaningful as young women.

Best wishes to all of you and your daughters...and thank them again and again for serving our great nation. Hard to find a more noble way to serve.

Kirk and Raymond: I also live in the Denver metro area and my daughter graduated from A and C school @ PCola ( with honors I might add) Mid july and was home for 2 weeks . We just drove her out to SD where she gets her new orders. Enjoy your girls time at home it goes by very quickly. Isn't it the GREATEST feeling ever how proud we are of our little girls. God Bless each and everyone of them. Hope you both have a great visit with your girls.

Kirk: KC is on medical hold in GL as we speak. Mild case of sore throat and whacked-out white cell count. Hopefully she won't be held there too long. Bet you are anxious to see Holly. They grow up way to fast.

Hi Raymond, we're in the Denver metro area ourselves. Holly is in Pcola right now and she texted me today that she should be home for leave on Sept. 9th. right now.

We went to PIR on July 17. Holly's in Pcola now 'til the end of August and after that, who knows? She hasn't told me whether she has an East/West coast preference, but we'll know in about a month.

I live in the metro area of Denver Colorado. No matter where they put Holly, she won't be close. It's almost as if she planned it that way.....hehehehehe.
