Jack, good to hear your daughter is getting back from deployment. give her a big welcome home if you can. Tell her thank you for your service from all the people back her especially from this old salt.

Our daughter Victoria AM assigned to Blackhawks Helicopter Squadron in Norfolk NAS, Virginia is attending "C" school through the Friday after Thanksgiving. We hope to see her during Christmas. She is also awaiting results of Petty Officer exam,

My daughter is spending this week in Texas at Army-Baylor taking the Col Kersey course.  She is a PT currently serving at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  She is looking at possible billets aboard a carrier or a station in Japan next.  Our thanks to all of the women for their service!

Daughter is now 2.5 weeks in to MA school, doing fairly well but did not enjoy OC spray day. She is looking forward to weapons qualification. wants to qualify or be accepted for military working dogs.

My "little girl" just got back from her second deployment to the Gulf on  carrier.

Met some of her shipmates on the Tiger thing. And ashore afterwards.

I totally respect the whole crew - total competence at their jobs is just -what they do - and they do it for 245 days at a stretch - no sweat - no worries - just do their jobs. And do their jobs real well.

My worries (and hers) at boot camp turned out to be no big deal.

2 years and 2 deployments not such a big deal either - the kids learn and get real good skills

4 years on - I'm happy my daughter decided to be a sailor.

My daughter flew out this past Monday. She decided to call her GF instead of me. Was a little disappointed about that. We're pretty close and she's a little older then the avg. recruit (24)......Oh well. Hopefully I'll the letter with all the info.

No news is the best news.  That means that she is getting through without any major problems that could affect her PIR date.  Battle Stations is tough but if she is getting along well up until this point it should be a breeze.

I can't remember if I have ever posted anything in this group, but I know I have in the BootCamp group.  My daughter is now in the middle of week 7  and probably has gone through fire fighting training already in preparation for Battle Stations sometime at the end of this week or beginning of next week.  Communications has been real bad but e are getting used to it. Since she went to bootcamp, I have written her 14 letters so that we could give her the support that everyone is saying that we should make sure to write our sailors. It gets frustrating when you write two to three letters and you still have not re'c one of her letters in reply and then you find yourself repeating yourself in your letters.  We are hoping to hear if she has passed BattleStations way in advance of the last week.We are about 6000 miles away from Great Lakes and we plan on leaving here on Tuesday night at 11:30PM  so that we can make sure to get into CHicago on Thursday, July 26th. SO we are keeping our fingers crossed so that we get the good news before we leave.\

Well 2 weeks ago a wonderful chain of events took place. First I now have a second petty officer in the ranks as my daughter changed names and got married. Second I have found out that in November there will be a pint sized member of the family in my first grand-child. What a neat time to be a Dad
