Bruce, My daughter is also in Sasebo serving on the USS Germantown.  She is PO3 Bledsoe.

My daughter just left for Sasebo Japan.  She will be running the PT clinic.  Before leaving, she received the Joint Service Commendation Medal.  We are so proud!

My daughter was frocked yesterday to Petty Officer 3rd class.  She has been in the Navy including boot camp 1 yr and out of A school 8 months. I'm a very proud Dad!!

Dear Micheal, I cannot say the same for our daughter, but she did make Petty Officer Wednesday before Thanksgiving. She started Boot January 9, 2012. She also finished C School Wednesday in Norfolk. We hope to see her in December also.

My daughter is due back from her very first deployment on the first week of December after only 4 months, her ship was deployed a week before she graduated from Boot Camp and she had 2 weeks of PACT-S training at Great Lakes before her group of Undesignated Seaman went out to the fleet. She was shipped off to Norfolk, and spent one week there before being sent off to Rota, Spain to meet up with her ship, she has only been in the Navy for 5 months and has already been to 5 different countries. She absolutely loves it in the Navy and all of her shipmates that she has met so far. She is hoping to take her tests for her E-4 in March and hopefully decides what Rate she is going strike for. She doesn't mind the BM rate but is thinking about moving towards the MA rate. She comes home for a week during Xmas. And then reports back to her ship before New Years'

know exactly what you mean SSG...I have video of Kat belly dancing at a ren fest when she was about 4....now she is using her GI benefit to go to school after serving 5 years on the USS Abraham Lincoln....would never have expected that when she got into mom's flour when she was about 18 months old and all you could see was this Casper-like entity - totally white with flour with two eyes looking at you
