She remebers talking to you guys. She leaves the 24th out of MEPS in Salt Lake City. We're having the going away party on the 21st. I didn't see the date on your other post. Looks like he leaves a week nefore she does.

Hey Chris, we were at the airshow in Idaho Falls to. We were there Friday for the family day. My daughter is a deper in Idaho Falls. Looks like she'll leave for Great Lakes a week before your son. Like you I got a little misty eyed at the heritage flight among other things. I am proud to say as the date draws closer the rest of my family now understands why I get that way when it comes to certain things.

Geoff may have seen my daughter. Blond wearing galsses working the navy flight simulator.

Well, we finally made it to ship date! We are waiting on that first phone call now. The "boy" (this will be the last time I can call him that! lol) was really excited so it made the separation much easier. Thanks to the staff at MEPS for answering all of our questions.

I've heard some recruiters do and some do not....take advantage of the chance to ask questions....I'd keep a small notebook handy and as questions come up jot them down....the more you know, the less you'll be surprised down the road!!

although i've met my sons recruiter and communicated by email, he hasn't met my wife and has asked to schedule a visit to the house to comfortably discuss Ian's enlistment. I thought that was a generous offer of his time to do that for us..is this common out there? Have you guys had a similare experience?

Hey guys, John did real well on his PRT Friday and signed that he would start earlier. Well, that didn't take long, John got a call early this morning from the Navy who asked him a couple o questions and told him he would start in April and would notify his recruiter. The recruiter than called him in and he signed a new contract that ships him out April 27. Jim, it dozen't look real good for my fence.LOL Matthew, fishing tourn.still on!! GO NAVY!!

Hey Snooky,
That’s great news, I hope you and John get to go fishing this weekend , because this will probably mess with your tournament plans. Tell John I’ll be thinking of him and to catch a lot of fish.

Hi everybody, My son got a phone call tonight, from his recruiter. He wants to see John tomorrow to change his ship date from Sept. 13,2010 to as soon as 2wks from now. John would keep his same rating AO. I guess he would have to sign a new contract changing the shipping date, etc. What do you guys think??
