Kurt: I believe Pre Buds is typically anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks in duration or as long as it takes to form up and prepare a BUD/S class.

Does anybody know if a celebration of any kind is planned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Seals (January, 1962)?

My best wishes for your sons & you as you enter an extraordinary experience. As Grandpa stated, you're in for a bumpy ride!!! encourage your guy to do it ONE  EVOLUTION AT A TIME. Hour to hour , beat down to beat down... .

Feel free to contact me if u wish,  Jack

Thanks again Grandpa.  Considering we're just starting First Phase, that's a long way down the road!!  We'll take it one day at a time.

The should know just before graduation. My GS graduated on Friday and left SD for the East Coast on Tuesday. He drove his wife and dogs out and the Navy moved their stuff.

Thanks for the info Grandpa.  I figured you'd know.  One more question: Are they assigned to a team during SQT or after they win their trident?

Comment by NavyDads Co-Admin, Calvin on October 23, 2011 at 1:37pm

BUDS Graduation is closed to everyone but the guys. In fact I heard that will be no more BUDS Graduation, just a short meeting of the guys and instructors on the beach then on to SQT. SQT Graduation is the one you want to go to it is Great. I have a Blog on http://www.navydads.com/profiles/blogs/sqt-graduation-trip you might like to read.

Hey Grandpa, are families still invited to BUD/S graduations or are festivities limited now to just SQT?

HooYah BUDS Class 292. Is everyone ready for a bumpy ride?

John and John glad to have you here. My Grandson graduated 273.

Looking forward to following 292 and hearing how your guys are doing.
