My wife & I spent an extraordinary week w/some of the guys, & red eyed back 4/6. Lance- I tried to hook up w/ your son but didn't. I'll make it up in Nov. Met a number of 286'ers, & it was a great experience. Also, 5/6 guys rolled from 286 that are now 287/288. We wish them well!! Great , dedicated young men that were injured early on w/ 286 that healed & continue to pursue the Dream. I know that a number of you have traveled this hard road before, but I cannot express how impressive these young men- our young men are to meet & spend time with.As 288 concludes week 1 of BUD/S & 287 , having survived HW press on , 286 is on to SQT & it's challenges. To see these guys relate to one another: support one another: & then bust each others chops is quite an experience. A trip to Rosecrans Cemetary & meeting Mike Monsoor's best friend @ the grave  site was an experience I will long remember!

If you can go in Nov , or any time, do not miss the opportunity!!

Hi Grandpa...  Just dropping in and reading the posts, and remembering......

Congrats to all your sailors no matter what stage they are at!  It gets NO easier! But if it were easy.... everyone would do it!  It takes a special guy to even begin this process!

Steve -try Ranger Surplus...

http://www.rangersurplus.com/

They have three locations in the Baltimore/DC area.., Rockville, Bethesda and Tysons Corner, VA.

If you were in Daytona Beach I'd say, G.I. Jeff's on ISB- they have it all! Great shop - plan a trip to Florida this summer- catch a race, get a tan and grab a pair of woodlands ;)

Probably any Army/Navy surplus store. That's where I bought mine (in Green Bay). Lots of guys up here use them for deer hunting! :)

286 is back from the island. Sounds like they had quite a time, altho I didn't get much detail.

Congrats to all 286'ers!!

Lance, have gotton a response back from 286 Group?
Comment by Jackct on March 16, 2011 at 1:45pm

Lance,

I'm with  you!! it's been a long spell since any contact. We've watched the class 234 video a few times, but it seems as if that series wasn't very indicative of what these classes really go through. Felt for the 287 folks willing their sons thru HW. To them, best of luck thru Phases 2. If your guy was rolled, it will all shake out! This is quite a ride!
