cindy, my name is anita, i joined n4m's a while back, i love all the ladies, and respect there experience and some of there wisdom, i found out 3 weeks ago my son is being deployed to Afghanistan in the winter, i could do nothing but freak out and cry, there were so many question i had, i went to n4m's, they didn't no the answers to my questions , so they suggested i come here, i started in the chat room but no body was responding after sitting here waiting for signs of life in the chat room for 30 min's i just gave up, being a mom of a corpsman, i wanted to know so badly what my only son was up against,i just had a need to quite my heart and mind, this is the first time i've been on since.

Mark ~ We do have interesting insights don't we! And, to add to your comment there are two Corpsman groups on N4M's. There is the general Corpsman group and then there is the smaller Camp Pendleton Moms, of which I am a member of. Camp Pendleton allows men only into the FMTB and CTM courses while Camp LeJeune allows men and women. CP Corpsman like to say only wimps go to Camp LeJeune since PT is easier cuz of the women. All in jest, I assure you.

As it's been a long time since I've been on Navy Dad's, I hope this finds all your corpsman well, happy, and safe as they can be if deployed.

Morgan will be deployed in the spring. This mom's having difficulty with that...which is why I also joined Navy Dad's, to get the dad's interesting insights! heehee

My son did FMTB (then FMSS) at Lejeune in July 2007. He thought it was tough but valuable. There is a pic on my page of him holding up a target with Bin Laden's face on it (Marine rifle course humor). Corpsman.com has good info as do the official site and a Lejeune newspaper article: www.camplejeuneglobe.com/articles/2007/10/15/news/top_stories/top02.txt

Dennis & Robert.. The best advice I can offer you is to check out Corpsman.com. Not to take away from this site but here is where I found out a LOT of great info!! There are many active, retired and family members on the various discussion boards along with other great categories. Good luck, I'm sure you'll find whatever you're looking for between these two sites.

Ditto on wanting to know what is in store at FMTB. My son got his orders for Camp Lejeune when he graduates in Nov. It is where he wanted and from the beginning has been focused on FMF.
God bless and watch over every one of em.

Robert - My son Anthony graduated NHCS back in March. He went to FMTB at Camp Pendleton and is now at NAS Lemoore. If you can fly out to see him graduate FMTB you won't be disappointed!! Another great Corpsman site for info / discussion is Corpsman.com It's what led me to here.

Mark and Jame's Mom - I have to say my son didn't want to be in HS. It was hard to get him to graduation. His grades were ok but he didn't want to do the work. He enlisted at age 21. Since being in the Navy and now especially Corpsman School, his light is a beacon! I've never seen this excitement in him on any subject and for this long. Each new thing he learns is fun to hear him talk about. I feel so happy seeing the young man he has become through all this year's training and I know that he's only just really begun. congrats and thank you to your sons for serving.

Eric - Thank you for the wonderful words. very nicely said.

Bravo Zulu to all of your sailors who are now stationed or are still in training! As I hear what they are doing and the enthusiasm they are showing, it reminds me that they are doing this out of a desire to serve others and is a testimony of how they were raised. We continue to pray for them for safety and guidance as they pursue their careers. Be encouraged by them and continue to encourage them! Fair winds and following seas.
