Cindy,
When sewing on a crow it takes some work so it looks right. If you have questions send a note. I will send insight. Yeah, I made extra $ when I was in sewing on crows, esp days before our uniform inspections.

mark,
Nice video; I sent link to my son in Iraq. Posted a few new iraq photos of him, too.

That's why they have proud dads...to brag on their accomplishments and cool things that have happened to them!

Woo Hoo for Daniel! God keep him and the rest safe and bring them home very soon.

How cool is that Mark! I'll have to check it out. David must've been pretty excited.

Mark,
Very cool, Mark. We'll check it out. My son, Daniel, who has been with the 2/1 Marines in Iraq for the past 6 months, passed his FMF this past week. Semper Fi! He's now a certified "Devil Doc". Scheduled to return soon, but vague so far.

Kevin ~ Your son wants to get back on flat land? The 3/1, including corpsman, headed up to the Bridgeport Mtns early Saturday morning. I know Morgan was probably excited about being up in the mountains. They started their 3 wk mtn training. As he's not assigned to a certain group, he gets to stay in the BAS at the top. Said he wasn't going to be too sad, cuz he didn't want to do 15 mile hikes everyday, like the other corpsman who are assigned to a group. However, he was going to be bored. I'm not very sad about it. It'll save his knee from a lot of pain.

Richard ~ That's the way it is in CP. However, he'll also find there is a lot more mind games being played than there ever was at BC. Morgan's group didn't do as much as the other two, so when your son starts FMTB, it may be a good thing or a bad thing for him!

Yeah, same here. My boy said many of the recruits were in very bad shape coming into bootcamp. He said his PT in A-school, although not as frequent, is much more demanding than the PT in bootcamp.

Jay - My boy found Bootcamp to be easier than he anticipated. He will do fine - August 21 will come very fast and then he will be off to A-school. I was unsure of what to expect for A-school because my kid was never a brainiac in High School. But, he has worked very hard and done very well in A-school. His average test score is around 90%. Good luck and make sure to write every chance you get.

It is great to read your comments and know that my husband and I have been going through these things too. Our son, Devin, just finished his A school and just reported to Camp Pendlton. Working this week in PT waiting to start his FMTB. We attended his basic grad at the end of Feb at GL and I had to agree it just must be the frozen forms in winter there that they love!! Then all the 'duckie' rain weather while doing his A school.

Jay - I know that the funny cards and any letter however brief will help your son get through bootcamp. My son that just getting any mail from anyone made his day. Kept his spirits up and he knew he had support to make it through. Meant everything to him. I would send him some of those musical cards and even some jokes or funny pictures that I received via email from my friends. spaced things out to arrive to him.
