Battle Ready: Memoir of a SEAL Warrior Medic
Navy Cross, Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart recipient SEAL Lieutenant Mark L. Donald shares in this 352-page memoir his journey from the rigors of BUD/S training to the horrors of the battlefield. The book immerses the reader in the unique life of the elite warrior-medic who advances into combat with life-saving equipment in one hand and life-taking weapons in the other. It also touches on how he struggled and survived the demons caused by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that threatened to destroy him and his family.
According to his service record, Donald began his military career as a Reconnaissance Marine in 1985. In 1987, following his transfer to the U.S. Navy as a Hospital corpsman, he began service as a SEAL Corpsman. He served the nation for 24 years as a Navy SEAL, Corpsman and Medical Service Corps officer.
Battle Ready will be released on March 12.

I would look on the internet Military Source 1 or contact her command's family readiness office. When I was in it took 9 months to change my name and that was years ago. I have heard the process has not changed. Since she is in school you would be better if you did the leg work and see what you can learn since there is not much free time while they are in class. Too with the budget cuts they may ask you to wait until she is done with school. Who knows what is store with the current admin. Yes, the Army is diff than the AF and the Navy is more complex of the two. Likely they will ask you to do the move and they will reimburse you; however, have it all in writing and save all you receipts.
Hey my wife grads A school on 19th of March. Then stays in SA for Surg Tech C School. So the navy is supposed to move me there with her. Im former ARMY so I know how the Army does thing. But the Navy has its on way. For example in the Army when you get married you go to personel and they do all your paper work that day. Or tell you what you need to complete the process. My wife has been to personel twice. To get her name changed and start BAH. That start on 2 Jan.. They told her it would talk two months to start BAH. Thje didnt ask for any paperwork. As for her name change they told her first she had to change her Drivers License then they could process the paperwork. Well she was in A school in Texas and Florida requires you to be here in person to change you name on your drivers license. So then they said ok just change your SSA name and well process it. So we are waiting for the SSA to send her her new SS card. IDK. they had a checklist for stuff in the Army and what you needed to do. Its like they are guessing. And is if you dont ask they wont tell you even if they know. but anyway.
I would like to know what I/my wife need to do for the PCS move for me from Florida to Texas. And how to apply for family housing (on base). I know its an Army base but they do stuff different for Navy. Any help advise you can give me?

@ Randall and @ Lyle, I always thought the military moved with precision.... They must know these dates well in advance. Why wouldn't they publish them well in advance. They say they want the family involved and they want to sailor involved with family. So I'm a bit surprised.... But then the saying, "Needs of the Navy" keeps ringing in my head and I realize I'm no longer in charge! AAAAUGH! LOL. Thanks for the information. I'm waiting and will continue to be proud....
