That will be great. He graduates today from A School and will be home for a few days this week. I am really looking forward to seeing him.

I know he is exicited about getting to Lejune. Any guidance from his peers and experienced medics will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the reply and thank your son for me.

Johnny,

My boy is in 2nd Med at LeJeune but is deployed right now. He will be returning there when he gets back from Afg in mid September. He is a team Leader at a STP over there now, just earned HM3 yesterday, and got his FMF pin a couple months ago. (you will figure all that lingo out soon enough!)  =)

Maybe we can get them hooked up somehow and he can be a resource for your boy. I'm sure he'd be willing. He's great like that. One of the Corpsmen in his FMTB Platoon from LeJeune was KIA three weeks ago today in a firefight and my boy is taking it pretty hard. Especially since the funeral was last week or so and he (of course) couldn't be at the service for him.

Your boy will make so many new friends there friends. The nervousness is understandable, but he the next tiem you see him, you will be absolutely amazed a his growth and maturity! I will metnion it to him next time I get to talk to him and we can stay in touch on here and eventually get them hooked up some how.

My son is headed for Camp Lejune. Anyone have some insight as to what he can expect? He is exicited but nervous. I am just nervous and very proud of him. Thank you all.

Thanks Natilie,

I'm sure he'll be fine.  I expect to hear from him before he starts, and I keep tabs on him through social media.  He seems to be in good spirits.  Said he pulled a groin muscle last week and he is resting it this week in preperation for FMTB.  I appreciate the kind words and advice from you and Randy, we will definitely write him.  I started looking at airline flight prices, but am waiting on him to tell me when graduation will be before I buy anything.  We'll see.  I work the driving range for the Tour Championship in Atlanta and it's close to when he'll graduate, but I am hopeful it will be over before graduation.

Thanks again.

Almost 2 years ince my son graduated from Camp Pendleton FMTB. He still says it was the best training ever. Hard mental at times, yes. But felt it was truly the best training. Good luck to your son, David!! Randall is right about the letters from home being a boost. Helps them get through it all. Graduation was very worth the trip. They had a video (DVD) you could buy at grad too of their class all through the training. Plus they played it before grad ceremony. So amazing to see what they go through. Tell him Thank you for being a Corpsman!!

Thanks Randy, I will tell him.  We are looking into going but are waiting to hear when it will be.  Fortunately I have relatives in LA who have already begged us to come stay with them, so it might be more affordable.  We will continue to write and wait for his calls.  Thanks again.

Good morning David

Your son looks 100% ready in pic you posted, he's right they will do

the mind thing each day in many ways.

Under the Blue and Green methods it makes for easy and hard days,

the school and their methods are great and do everything they can

to make it look and feel real for the men.

Letters and e-mails from home still help alot, even if they dont say

that ........a boost now and then is a good thing from home.

Make graduation if you can its something to see the New Doc

on his way to becoming Green

Wish him good luck from all of us, I'm sure hell do well
