Jeff welcomed me a few days ago. Thanks. To answer your question, I enjoy HF. Rig is an Elecraft K2/100 with all the bells and whistles installed. Ant is a S9v43 vertical.

I enjoy building equipment. Current project is a 1kW Solid State HF-6m amp based on the BLF188XR. I've been licensed since 1991, originally KC4WVL.

My daughters ship is changing home ports from Norfolk to San Diego in 2015 and she is a Ham as well, but I need more radios like I need a hole in the head! It would be tempting to have her get me something new though!

;) I'll be checking out Singapore and HK while on deployment if we pull into those ports. I don't know that I'd get a chance at Akihabra (a Tokyo suburb). Definitely going to keep my eyes open.
