My name is Jared. As of late I've been running around with a Wouxun kg-pd1 2M/70cm, brewing antennas with other hams, and training junior sailors and radio operators in radio propagation and practices.

KJ6QVI, Larry, in Sonora, California

Only 2M and 70CM so far

Technician License (aquired in September, 2011)

1 Alinco DR 620T in my pickup

2 Yeasu FT270 portables that I pack around

Welcome aboard Larry! I'm Bob Kaliszewski KC0FMI my favorite band ends up being 2 meter as I love to rag chew and on HF it is your 5 x 9 good bye! I have three HF rigs that collect a lot of dust. I'm a Navy vet, HT 2 1978-1982 Army reserve Sgt 1982-1987. My wife a Ham and our daughter in boot is as well. She will be going to Mass Communications school which is right up her ally as she has already been published in song writing and in written word!

The Alinco is a fine radio. I have a couple myself. I have the 605TQ and 635T sits next to my easy chair.

73s

Bob

I do use echolink. I'll hop on every now and then. I've been focusing on helping local hams.

I really need to upgrade. 16 years of working in Radio Central (RM/IT) and 18 years of being a ham doesn't really leave me much excuse.

Welcome aboard, Jared! Might be a bit of a task to QSO with you on 2 meters being you are in CA and I'm in Indiana. We need to get you to upgrade my friend! You ever use Echolink? Maybe I could link up with you on that sometime?
