We have the medical field covered in here hehehe. I too get to attached and very sensitive, super sensitive the older I get. Lauren thank you for the invite to n4m's, but I am so busy with teaching school and raising all the children I barely get here once a day lol. Submarines, those scare me lol, I am thankful for your sailors though that can endure that! My son is going to be on the USS Enterprise, it is a nuclear ship and that scares me too. . . I am unsure if all the ships now are nuclear? Snow Natalie!! kewl :) my girls want to move where it snows lol I say I am happy right where I am! If they bug me too much I can drive about an hour to the mountains where they have been getting lots of snow hehehe.

Hey, Lauren! I couldn't do the nursing either -- I get too attached to people and would hate seeing them die. Bet you have stories to tell, being an EMT !! My daughter (Lauren!)'s father was an EMT and he sure has some stories to tell. GOOD LUCK with your finals!! My daughter is fixin' to be out of school until nursing school starts on Jan 20th -- she's sooo excited! (What are you majoring in?? I'm thinking about going back to school.)

Thanks for the welcome...I'd like to also let you know that I started a single site on navy4moms.please join us there tooo. I think this is wonderful .my son has been on a sub for 4 years and no news is good news. I think that not talking about his job for me is a little easier because I work at a domestic violence shelter and we don't talk about my work either. so my heart goes out to you if this is something new. but trust my they will have plenty to talk about .my sons sub poked its head out of the water the other nite and we talked for 1 1/2 hrs Natalie I'm a basic EMT but don't think i could do the nursing I'm good at emergency's but not long term I get too attached
huggs all
finals today at school.........yeah ..then break time .............woohoo

My daughter's name is Lauren, too! She's my awesome nursing student!
Chris, my NAVY "boy" is older and overseas now. I heard from him today in some emails!! Was GREAT! He had not written for a few days.....said he's been VERY busy. This is good......wish I knew what he was doing but it seems to be "top secret"....just glad he's OK !! =)

I would like to welcome Lauren, Natalie (#2), Debby, Janet, Yvonne, and Ginger!!! Thanks for giving a background on your sailors and self :). Please feel free to start any discussions that are close to your heart or picking your brain. We are all here to lean on each other for support. God Bless, Michele :)

Hello! I'm new and just wanted to say "hi". My son, Chris, is on his first mission overseas and left on Nov. 28 of this year. I'm in the GREAT state of TEXAS and am very proud of my son -- he's come a long way!

Hi evry1 I'm new to this site but not really to the navy. My son has been in for 5 years and on a sub for 4. Natalie it is normal to be depressed, but when your son starts sharing all the new things in his life and you see him start to grow you'll be excited as he is . My son is spending th day with my sister while visiting in a port. I'm so sad that I can't be there with him ...........I came here
I know a bunch of great people will take the sadnes away.
So what is everyone up to this week end?
I have 2 final papers due for school on Tues and just can't stay focused on them
