Sandra as far as I know they stay with their assigned jobs unless they don't fit the standard of the job then they either go undesignated or get a new job. Locations usually don't change unless he is appointed to different squadron, fleet, etc due to a change in job. If I am wrong someone please update me also on this :).

Yes, I have a question maybe some of you may know the answer to.
My son has been in the Navy almost 2 years now.
He has been station in the same place ,on the same ship for 1 1/2 years. Does the Navy chance his location or ship over the next two years?

Yes Sandra . .. it has its times of no chatter :(. Sometimes life seems to get busy for some of us and we forget to interact with our support groups until a bomb falls and we are running back to as fast as we can. We need to start a topic of the week to keep everyone involved :). Do you have a good idea for a topic? God Bless

That is wonderful Christy!! Hearing their voice puts us at ease knowing they are okay. I know when my son was in bootcamp over a year ago I wasn't aware of any phone call that would come in and I missed his call :(. He did leave a message though and I still have that recorded. I do hope one day we can organize meet-ups with our single parents :). I have made some life-long friendships here!

Hi Susan, My name is Christy and I am new to the group as well. I have a son in boot camp at this time. He got to call the other day for the first time since he has been there. Everyone here has made me feel welcome and gave some great advice. I hope that we can all get to know one another and lean on eachother when our children are unreachable. Welcome to the group, I hope you enjoy it and it comforts you.

Welcome to the new members! I am glad to see everyone is jumping in to help those that may be new to the Navy experience or just to our site here. Susan please lean on us here we want to make you feel comforted and confident. I know I was only looking at the next time I could see my son, but now I look forward to his stories of his adventures :). The more we know the easier it is accept their absence from home. Keep sharing and asking questions, we are all here for each other. God Bless

Hi Susan,
Welcome, I'm pretty new here, but everyone has made me feel like family
already.
Last year I had no Thanksgiving, Christmas or my birthday with my
Sailor. I did get to go and visit him in Dec. Just before he deployed.
This has been his longest deployment..I miss him alot..
Where is you Sailor stationed?
