Hi Parents, My name is Christy and my son Coty has recently joined the Navy with a graduation date of July 17. I am new at this and a little scared. I have gotten really good advice from others on NavyforMoms and Navydads. Can't wait to meet all of you and share experiences.

Hey Lauren thanks for stopping by! How is the foot? Glad you are getting out and about :) . I am not in Ill. but have family in WI & IA ! You brought up a good subject we can discuss in here: What is everyone doing for their summer? Any good ideas for some inexpensive fun with the crazy economy? Lets get this group rocking :)

How special that experience will be for you Sandra! Let Michael know we support him and thank him for his decision to serve our country. I would like to welcome you to our group here and hope to get to know more about both you and your sailor :). Maybe you can help shake these people to life in here hehehe.

Hi, My Son Michael is stationed in San Diego, Ca.
He has been the Navy 22 months. He has been deployed for 5 months
now on the Uss Boxer. I will be joining his ship in a few months for
a Tiger Cruise. I can't wait to see him.....

I want to take this time to welcome all our new members to Single Parents! I hope you get involved and share your journey with others in here :).

My second part of business is to ask of one or two of you to help me in the task of welcoming new members. Due to being in college, which I didn't think would engulf my time as much as it has, I have not been able to come here as often as I would like! Please send me a message and let me know if you are interested in this duty :).

Update with my son: He is finally getting into C School!! Yeah! He will start June 15th and it will last approximately 5 to 6 months. He also will be staying at his current base in VA Beach, VA so he will still be close by :).

I hope everyone is doing well and their sailors are also!!

That sounds like an interesting yet highly busy job! I hope he enjoys it :). I know you are very proud of his decisions. Keep us informed of his progress through A school.

My son is going to be an Internal Communications Electricain. His A school will be at Great Lakes. He's said he'll be there for a year at least.

Welcome Aboard Mike! What rate (job) is your son going to be? Do you know where he will be heading for A school? Great to have you with us here, jump in and start conversations :).
