At MEPS in San Diego. He hasn't shared yet when he leaves for basic, his job will be Missile Technician. I work in the South Bay, live in the Inland Empire.

Finally home from and amazing experience of watching my Sailor graduate PIR. I can tell any new dad that will go through the ceremony that it is breath taking. The pride you feel when that roll up door opens up is like no other I've ever felt. We were able to spend the whole Thanksgivig long weekend with him as he stays in Great Lakes for ATT and A school. So it was bitter sweet to spend so much time with him yet still have to go home without him. Skype will be our new best friend and his roommates sound like very good guys to be around. I stayed strong for him when we said our goodbyes but the next day at the airport I was a total mess putting a pic of him on Instagram. Proud of my Hero, my Sailor, my Son.

That's great news for the crew of the USS Carl Vinson.  Their ship relieved my son's ship the USS George H.W. Bush so he could come home for Hanukkah and Christmas.  He will be home on Tuesday.  I can't wait to see him.  He also just got promoted to E5 Second Class Petty Officer MA4  Hooyah!

Happy Thanksgiving Navydads.
I'd like to mention a little plug for the USS CARL VINSON where my son is right now. If the ships Facebook page reaches 100,000 likes the Captain said he'll give them a steel beach picnic. If you can like their page and pass the word around that would awesome!
Thanks - Dave.

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving Navy Families!  We are hoping to receive a call from our SR, who has been adopted for the day by some amazing family.  Our hearts are full of gratitude.  God Bless!
