At MEPS in San Diego. He hasn't shared yet when he leaves for basic, his job will be Missile Technician. I work in the South Bay, live in the Inland Empire.

Hello to all the parents of men and women that have served or are serving our country. My son shipped to boot camp on Nov. 21, 2011. In that time he has done and seen some amazing things. He was re-assigned before boot camp was over, not what he wanted but he rolls with the punches. He was assigned to the USS Carr. They are currently working in the area off the Columbia coast keeping drugs from reaching our shores. They have been very successful I may add. They have  rescued i think three vessels in distress on the open seas. Not to bad for his first time out. They recently crossed the Equator and he is now a Shell Back. What a year it has been. I will be able to go on a tiger cruise soon, i cant wait.

Happy Veterans Day to all Navy Dads and Moms

Stephen, I called NEX a few days after PIR and had them email me an order form. I filled out that order form with my credit card info and "mailed" it back via USPS. Though I don't recall exactly the time frame (in days), but there is a "deadline" when you need to place your order for the graduation DVD.

Stephen you definitely want to order that PIR DVD I think I must have watched it at least three times to date. I believe the ordering process for the DVD remains the same. Contact NEX just to verify here's the link, it's also posted under the PIR tab: http://www.navydads.com/group/pirtipshintsandhelps/forum/topics/ord...

Ask your son if he ordered the "Keel" book. It's basically their bootcamp yearbook. It's pretty cool too...

Just to note-- there are 15 Divisions at the Nov 30 PIR.  That's why they had requested RSVP's-- they are expecting large groups.

And of course you'll want a navydads.com shirt if they take orders again.  Watch for it on the site.

My son would agree with you there Stephen.  His uncle lives at Big Bear Lake in the San Bernadino Mountains.  When John and his brothers were growing up, we usually spent New Years up there.  Even though he started snow boarding in his late teens, when he was a little guy he hated the snow.  His nickname was "Freezer Burn".

You are very welcome Stephen.  When our son John was at RTc we checked the link every Tuesday until we saw his Division number.

NavyDads.com also has the link to the PIR dates on the right hand side of this page.  Just scroll down and click view all
