At MEPS in San Diego. He hasn't shared yet when he leaves for basic, his job will be Missile Technician. I work in the South Bay, live in the Inland Empire.

Chuck,

Being a Proud Parent in my book is one of the best things in life one can experience. Little bro going to the Navy too that's so awesome and yes you are a lucky man!
So I gather you're in the Rio Vista area? I love that hwy 12 drive that way I just love hwy 12 either direction hehe.

Yeah up here in Solano County which covers for the most part Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville and Dixon we've been hit too with the .dot house bubble and of course jobs. I just thank Travis Air Force Base for being around...

Thanks Gary,

We are very proud. We miss him here at home but are glad he is serving his country. Here in Siskiyou County times are tough and jobs are few. Thank God for the Armed Forces. His brother will be out of HS in 2014 and cant wait to follow in his brother's foot steps. I'm a lucky man.

Wow, thanks Gary.  I often work in Vallejo, and my middle son lives in Vallejo and is Medical School at Touro University on Mare Isaland, and I never new this Museum was there.  We will definetly check this out!

The boy is doing well, he and his shipmates on the USS Carr are stopping narcotics from coming in to the country, and so far have been very successful. The ship he is on will be decommissioned after this deployment. He has put in for San Diego, Hawaii and a base in Washington. His first deployment has been a experience for all of us. Looking forward to a tiger cruise when they get back. God bless all of your sons and daughter that are serving this great country.

If any of you all are ever up this way in the North Bay, this place is definitely worth checking out... Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum

John I had the opportunity years ago to go on the USS New Jersey. Was impressive to be on a active duty ship of that size!

Ah the moth ball fleet one of the ship’s my Dad was on I think is still up there, The Glacier.

I did Scott.  We catch quite a few strurgeon around the moth ball fleet.  She looks WAY BETTER in Cheri's picture.  Can't wait to visit our son in San Diego and bring him up to San Pedro to see her.
