Graduation Question

My Son will be graduating form boot camp on 080511 and leaving the next day for "A" school in Florida. My family plans to attend the graduation and take him to Chicago on Friday via the METRA train . Anyone have any comments about the METRA and your experience visiting Chicago the day of graduation. Also I have heard I can give my son a backpack to take back on base to take with him when he flies to Florida. Does anyone know if he will be able to take the backpack back on base right after…

A light doesn't need to say it is a light

it either shines or it doesn't, when it starts blinking it becomes annoying and is replaced.. that is the essence of a SEAL. He does what he is supposed to do and lets others enjoy the benefits of his mission... He does not seek glory, his reward is a mission accomplished and the knowledge that he was there when required

BUDS class 290

These men, my son among them, are being subjected to the most intense scrutiny of the year due to the soft approach of previous classses. I say Soft even though BUDS soft is pretty brutal. Either way the ones that get through are very special and the ones that try and don't make it have nothing to be ashamed of.... Prayers for all of them, I am in awe of their commitment but not surprised that America still produces such men,,,,

Ship 11 Div 273

I haven't seen much about this group. I hope they are pulling together and are on track for a August 26 graduation!

My wife has sent our son a letter that she expected some sort of notification from the Recruit Training Center if his hands were broken since she hasn't received a letter from him yet.

This day came too fast

Today my only child leaves for Great Lakes he will arrive tomorrow. I'm very proud, and also having a hard time with it. I guess this is normal.

She's in the Navy now.

My daughter arrived on June 29 and I got the 30 second phone call that night and the form letter a week and a half later. Since then, crickets but that's not unexpected.

My son Jacob, left today for bootcamp. I am very proud of him. As a parent who has served our country I am looking for hearing and seeing the change in him.

My story

Well, here’s my story:

Bobby has always been interested in the military, as most boys are. I found it easier to connect with Bobby while he was growing up. His twin sister was all girl. I did my best, yet, It was sure easier to throw ball than play Barbie’s. My now ex-wife did most of the discipline while they were growing up while I found it easier to be their friends and have fun with them. About six years ago we got divorced and she moved close and we split the kids a week…
