After earlier letter stating he will be getting leave after graduation, I received another letter today casting some doubt on leave. Hope not, already purchased round trip airfare for him to come home. To soon to panic yet. Graduation still 4 weeks away. On positive note he said he made section leader due to excellent inspection reports. He sounds very positive and dedicated.

Hello all. Im happy to be here and proud to say Im a sailor dad. Im going to see my son in yokosuka soon and am wondering if anyone can let me know of affordable places to stay.

My fiancé and I have been trying to figure out what we need to get married in December. I don't understand though!! Does he need permission? What information do I need? Is there any paperwork that needs to be done ahead of time? I'm at a loss! I don't know what else to do! He's in a school and gets out on leave on December 21. He's an FC so what does he have to do or need and same for me? Please can anyone help me?! I've about lost my mind...

I guess I am not stating anything new for the Senior Navy Dads but PIR last Friday was simply an inspirational experience. When my son's division paraded into the hall past us I did not even recognize him as he walked 20 yds in front of me. What a change 8 weeks of bootcamp can make in a young man. My wife and other sons were saying "there he is" while I am saying "where? where?". I finally saw him and was struck by the thought that I did not recognize my own son. Crazy! We are very proud of…

Sorry for delay in getting to this, but my sailor's only internet after we returned was his phone & not good typing on it.

My Daughter Angela just call ed to say that she been in P hold for 2 weeks. and should start processing Monday. she also said that she was in the 900 division for being in the band. She seems really happy Is this common to be on hold for 2 weeks.

Well arrived in Jacksonville on time. People from the base and the USO were great. Our driver and navigator were real fun. They took us on the scenic route. Got to see the Jaguar stadium Laura loves the Colts so she did not care to much that I saw it. Still neat. Arrived at hotel got settled in, Heath called thought I could meet on base, he was on duty, but he guessed wrong. I just found this site, and I am so glad I can get answers from a trusted source for all my questions. My son's joining of the Navy is not just a journey for himself, but for us, his parents also. We hold our breath when he is facing a new challenge to his endeavors and rejoice with him when he reaches his goal. May God bless him and his fellow recruits as they overcome all odds and obstacles in their training.

Well really this is day 2 since I left Marshall last night to spend the night in the airport for a 515 am flight to Jacksonville. Really excited to go see my son, but have been upset that I could not get Laura and the girls up to Norfolk. To see. Us come in for the Big E's last time. It has been 11 months and 14 days since I have seen Heath. I am starting to miss him. Getting up there a day early, l hope I get to spend area hours with him this afternoon. About to board the plane.
