Memorial Day weekend PIR has been changed from Friday 5-27 to Thursday 5-26

It was posted about 30 min ago on RTC Facebook page: To clear up any confusion, the correct graduation day for Memorial Day weekend is Thursday, May 26.

And From RTC WEBSITE:

TG 28 —   7 Divisions (179–184 & 928) Graduate Thursday, May 26, 2011

My input:

If you have already made hotel reservations you need to go ahead and change them as well as letting you employer know you are leaving sooner. Hopefully no one made flight arrangements yet. The good news is… Continue

We made it

Well it has been a while but I'm back. My son Wyatt just called from MEPS in Portland Or. and he is now in the delayed entry program for the Navy. He will be on that until November. He wants the Master at Arms job, so he wants to wait for the job to open. If one comes available before November he will go early. We are very proud of him and all the hard work. I will keep you all up to date on whats going on. He's finely on his way.

Take care and be safe.

The Navy on Wednesday identified the two sailors killed Monday in a rollover accident at Camp Pendleton: Petty Officer Third Class Daniel M. Shirar and Constructionman Mychael A. Flint.

Shirar, 27, of Baytown, Texas, and Flint, 21, of Fort Ann, N.Y., died when the water truck they were riding in overturned during an exercise at the Marine Corps base north of Oceanside.

Eight warships are headed to Japan to render disaster relief in the wake of a catastrophic magnitude 8.9 earthquake that left hundreds dead Friday. JB Chesser Joins His Ship

Our son JB Chesser has now joined his ship, USS Gravely, and I ask for your prayers as he adjusts to the ship and way of life.  He is happy now, but what happens in the future? I can only pray that he stays positive.

Thanks to NavyForDads

Thanks for all the information listed on this site, my family has watched many of the videos and the information concerning his boot camp upcoming.

My son Josh leaves this weekend, while I was at a point in my life where I went to Air Force Training in Lackland AFB, I was alone and did not have the pressure of leaving anyone.  My parents were divorced at that time.  My son though, has my wife and myself, his Church Family and friends from his high school graduation feeling the effect…

Navy League of the United States

Is anyone out there a member of the Navy League of the United States?

This looks like a worthwhile organization to join, but I'd like to get some first-hand knowledge and feedback from a member.

Thanks!

Military Mom Pays High Price For Speaking With Marine son calling from Afghanistan

WOODBURY, Tenn. - A military mom said she would do anything to answer her son's phone call from overseas, no matter what the cost.

Some seven months ago, Lance Corporal Mark Rhyne left the little town of Woodbury, for the remote deserts of Afghanistan.

"I told my son the day he deployed as he was about to get on that bus, 'I will stand in your steed while you are gone, I will stand,'" his mother Teresa Danford said.

On Monday, while working inside the Crane…

Need help locating former Navy commrads of my Dad

Hello,

My Dad's name is William Robert Visnaw and he served in Corpus Christi, TX from 1958 thru 1962.  He flew on the S2F Tracker and I also believe he was on the USS Antietam for a short stretch during those years.  I am very proud of who the Navy helped mold him into (but of course I do need to give as much credit if not more to his mother) :)  Although there is a side of him that if he was anything like he is today that he was back then, then you will know of him being…

Website for my fellow sailors

Hello Navy Dads,

My name is Justin and I have been in the Navy for 9 years. My brother recently swore in and while answering his Pay questions, I realized how new sailors and their families can have little knowledge of all the different pays and benefits. I have created a website which is meant to help out my fellow Sailors (I don't advertise or accept pay of any kind) which is designed as a one stop shop for all current Navy pay information, and links to Navy related…
