Biography
AWR2 Paul Gabby graduated from boot camp in March of 2006. He then went on to Pensacola NACCS May through June of that same year. After that he attended rescue Swimmer school June through July. Then on to Aircrew school July to December.
Paul’s first squadron is forward deployed in Atsugi Japan. He is with the HS-14 Chargers. He's been there since August of 2007.
Paul's hobbies include venturing out into Japan, and running marathons. Paul ran in the Tokyo Marathon in 2010 and ran it in 3 hours, 14 minutes. He was also awarded a captains coin for his performance in the 2010 "bad man week" triathlon. (According to his dad, he "destroyed the competition!")
Prior to joining the Navy, Paul ran cross country and Wrestled for Southwest Randolph High School. He placed 4th in state wrestling. After graduation, he returned to assist as a wrestling coach while working full time and taking classes at the community college.

My smile does not fit on my face. I am very proud of Paul and all of service men and woman. He can't jump from the Chopper without a someone flying it, he can't get winched back up without one of the crewman helping, so I hope all the members of the HS-14 Chargers share in the pride this week.

Congratulations Paul! Bravo Zulu to you!! What an awesome start in life for you!! I wonder if we ever ran into you at a Wrestling Tournament. My Son Wrestled for North Davidson High School out of Welcome, NC (2004-2007). Our youngest daughter is stationed over in Atsugi Naval Air Base, Japan also. She is with VAQ 136 "The Gauntlets"..wonder if you have met!! Good luck in your endeavors..I am sure you will do great!
