My son Blake is on ship 12 division 159 and is scheduled for PIR on May 6th. Does anyone else have a son or daughter on that ship and division and have you heard from them since they left for boot camp? Thanks, Eric

Hi Eric,

My son, Jonathan left for bc on March 9th, ship 12 div 159. We have not heard anything yet, but hopefully we'll hear something next week. I can keep you posted if you'd like. Perhaps on the 6th, we get to meet each other.

Jim

Jim have you heard from your son Jonathan recently? I have only had one phone call from my son Blake and it was on 3-31-2011 at around 5:30 in the evening and was only for about 5 minutes. How amny times have you spoke with your son and how is he doing? Thanks, Eric

Eric,
We have received 6 letters so far but only 1 phone call for about 15 minutes. Jon, according to his letters is doing pretty good. He has been advanced to Recruit Petty Officer 2nd Class, Section Leader. He is leading 16 recruits. The division has lost 3 more recruits due to depression, medical and misconduct. They are now down to 78 recruits. I will tell my son to talk to Blake and maybe they can watch out for each other.

Hi Eric,

Eric and Jim,

My son Anthony is also on Ship 12 DIV 159. Although I have not spoken to him, I have received several letters. In fact, I received a letter today. He is in good spirits, and he is looking forward to May 6th. Jim, congrats on Jonathan's success. Eric, I am sure your son will contact you soon. Glad to know your boys are aboard the same ship!

Hi Eric,

Jim thanks for reply and good to hear about your son Jonathan doing well. I have received a couple of letters from my son Blake and the one phone call but he doesn't like to write unless it's on a computer so I probably will not get many letters. I do wonder when they will let the recruits make a few more phone calls since they are getting ready to hit week 5 in a few days and are over half way through boot camp. Maybe we can get together at the PIR on May 6th if possible. Thanks, Eric

Eric,

In one of Jon's letters, he mentioned that they will probably get to call home in the 5th week. That is, of course, if they don't mess up somehow. The RDC's use the phone calls as an incentive. Anyway, we have already booked our airfare and hotel for the PIR. We are staying at the Ramada Waukegan. They host a "Meet and Greet" for Navy parents the night before graduation. Perhaps, we'll see you there.

Jim

Art,

Welcome aboard. I'm sure all Navy Dads feel the same. Looking forward to those letters and phone calls. Jon had mentioned in one of his letters that they will get to call home in week 5. (If they don't mess up) Graduation will be here before you know it.

Hi Eric,

I recieved several letters from my son William. He's doing real good, passed both of his fitness test and cant wait to graduate. Congrats to all the Navy Dads sons for their Navy success!
Joie glad to hear that your son William is doing good and ready to graduate. My son Blake is on the same ship 12 and division 159 and he is getting ready for his PIR on May 6th also. Have you heard what time the PIR is on that Friday the 6th and is your son a grad and go or does he get some time off after boot camp?
Jim have you heard from your son lately and if so how many times has he called since boot camp started? Since your son and my son Blake are on the same ship and division I was wondering how many times he has been able to call you. I am staying at the Marriott Couryard in Waukegan, IL for PIR. Thanks, Eric

Jim, Art and Joie are you all ready to head to Great Lakes Illlinois next week for our son's PIR? I am ready and can't wait to get up there from here in Edmond, Ok and will be leaving next Thursday morning and going to drive up there and stay at the Marriott Courtyard in Waukegan. How many times have you spoke with your recruits since they have been in boot camp and have they told you that they are set to graduate? Thanks, Eric
