"accelerated" or "push" divisions train on an accelerated pace and typically graduate in a less than 8 weeks...usually because of holidays

Thanks for the explanation Paul, it was confusing because he had his tenative PIR date as 9/23 which would be the full 8 weeks.

The wife and I each got a letter from Zach yesterday. he seems to be doing well. plus one of our other NJROTC cadets graduated from the 900 last week. he had a brief conversation with Zach and told his mom who told my wife. Another friend of mine's son graduates next week from the 900. he is a CPO so while he is up for his son's graduation, he is going to check up on the 945 if he can.

we got Tylers letters today.  From what he said, the division sounds like its really coming together well.

Matt was honored to chosen for the 900 division--wasn't in ROTC or Band.  I saw in one of Phil's posts regarding Grad and Go, we haven't heard anything from Matt about that--he will be in A school in Virginia, when do they find out when they will be shipped out of RTC?  Also, I saw in a post on a different site that a mom didn't even see her son for the graduation ceremony because he was in the 900 division and had a job in the background--have any of you heard anything about that?

David- We got Tyler's departure date and time directly from him.  We have been fortunate enough to have received a couple phone calls from Tyler over the past couple of weeks.  His job (CTT) required that he call to get some referrence info for his background checks.  I have seen the posts you are referring to as well that mention a Sailor being in the 900 Div and being assigned to hold the doors for the officers coming in to the PIR hall.  I do not know how those choices are made though.

Phil, thanks for the info.  Sounds like we'll have a few questions for Matt in the next letter!  Matt's job is an IS so we were getting some of the same phone calls in week one, but we didn't know how much we could talk to him.

Yes, my son Brian!  Just got our first letter yesterday.  He says he got promoted to the 900 division!

David and Hugh, welcome to the 945 board and congrats on your sons being chosen for Div 945.

I was 10 minutes late getting home tonight and missed Peyton's call by 5 minutes. The call was limited to 5 minutes and my wife said that she could hear them yelling at him that time was up. Said things were going well and that he had been chosen to carry a rifle with the Color Guard.

No call from Tyler last night...we think he may be SIQ for his wisdom teeth this weekend.

Congrats to Peyton, that's awesome !!!

Matt called last night unfortunately it was to his girlfriend--we were disappointed to say the least.  Sounds like he had a double ear infection that set him back otherwise said things were going well the way he put it to her.

From what I can piece together from the limited contact with Zach is that he is on the "Honor Guard", I dont know about the security questions yet, (also CTT) we did some information with the recruiter, I dont know if that was the start or not. in the one call his mother got, he told her about his ship date. I am sure he called his girlfriend for his next available oportunity. we are going to meet him at the airport Saturday morning to drop off his cel, laptop and some civies. I am glad to hear that everyone is hearing from their kids...sorry...Sailors. As I said before, A friend of mine who is a Chief petty officer will be up next Friday for his son's graduation from 941. he is going to try and hook up with 945 to see how they are doing. I will reply hear if he finds out anything. Another of Zach's NJROTC class mates hits RTC next wednesday. looks like I will be following Navy dads till after the first of the year
