Got 2 letters from Peyton today, Said they can write Tues, Thurs, and Sunday so we should be getting more letters. He had a fever and sore throat last week but thinks he is over it now.
They had Marlinspike last week (learning rope handling and mooring a ship) which he said everyone enjoyed, and weapons training would be starting this week. They are doing less classroom and more hands on training and he really likes that.
Hard to believe he has been 5 weeks has gone bye already. Seems like he just left.
Got lettes from Zach today also, said Marlinspike was fun. he gave us an aproximate location where he will be durring graduation. My CPO friend was up for his son's grad last friday (DIV 941) he said if you want to get a good seat, you need to be at the drill hall by 0630-0645. he also said the GRAD N GO recruits liberty expires at 2000 Friday night. recruite busses start ariving at O'Hare at 0415 Saturday morning and the Pensacola flights leave around 0600. parents days are going to start aerly and last long that weekend I think.
Got letters from Peyton today and things are going well. They have finished live weapons fire and will be starting damage control and fire fighting. Said the Division has flagged (means they have done exceptionally well) all of their stages and had only two more to get.
Hard to believe PIR is in 2 weeks. Can't wait.
Steve, what happened to Peyton's eyes? Brian's mom and I will be there - two weeks from today!! No letters or call this week....
Good afternoon gentlemen !!! Not sure if you all were aware of it but the RTC Facebook page has pictures from today's PIR. We found one of Tyler (of course we can't see his face because he is saluting) but we know its him nonetheless.
We also got letters today (dated 4 Sep)... Tyler still can't shine his boots....maybe one of your sons can give him a lesson before PIR... Ha ha ha... All in all sounds like they are going to be fine for Battle Stations.
Looking forward to meeting you all in 2 weeks.
Hoo Yah 945 !!!!
Hugh, Peyton broke a blood vessel in each eye right before he had his photo taken, said they would fix his formal photo but his eyes in his ID would be tri colored.
Looked at the photos on Facebook found Peyton on 3-4. Have to say I really love his glasses. They really look great in their uniforms.
Look forward to meeting everyone at meet and greet Thursday night
I haven't heard anything about a meet and greet. Could someone elaborate?
one of the other websites tends to have a meet-n-greet at the Ramada the Thursday before PIR
Hugh-
Steve posted a link to it earlier in this thread....(page 1 or 2 I think)
PLEASE no more detail about Battle Stations....RTC considers posting anything about BS21 schedules as OPSEC violations as they define a specific location/time where sailors would be
Got letter from Matt dated 9/4, said pretty much what your guys were saying about the division doing well and had gotten a flag. Does anyone know about getting special passes at O'Hare so we can go to USO and visit him while he is waiting for his plane. I heard you can obtain them somehow but I can't find any info on it? We hope to see you in 2 weeks @ the meet & greet. We have a long drive and not sure if we will make it there in time, but we're hoping MapQuest is off on the time it will take for our trip!
Steve, is there a link to that Facebook page?
