Letter came today! PIR on 06 April!
I feel pretty lucky to have already received the form letter and box o' stuff. He'll only be gone a week as of tomorrow. Really hopeful that this is indicative of how fast the next 8 weeks will go by!
So, anybody else have a loved one in this division?

Nelson, a mom on Navy 4 Moms found me and sent friend request. Her son is same ship/division as Andrew. Her Navy 4 Mom screen name is Debbier and located in San Francisco area. You should sign up on that site too. It's weird how I'm seeing a lot of people just getting the form letters as late as three weeks after their kids left and we got ours in less than a week.
Nelson, the Navy 4 Moms site has started a PIR group for 4/6/12. Click this link.
Good to know - Thanks!
I'll be happy to scoot over to see what the Moms are finding out. They tend to be pretty persistent in getting and sharing information!

TG 21 — 07 Divisions (109–114 & 921) Graduate Friday, April 6, 2012
Nelson, seven divisions is great. Therefore, if you end up driving, maybe you can bring Sherry. I'm sure there will be plenty of extra tickets. As you know, I've booked two hotel rooms for us but holding out on Chris and my flight reservation out of RIC. The airfare just went up about $20 from Wednesday to Thursday but I will still hold out until early March to buy them when they drop. If you decide to fly, let me know and I'll book all flight reservations together.
Wow Becky. My son left out of RIC on a 2:40 flight on 2/7 and I received the kid in the box on Friday, 2/10 and his letter on Monday, 2/13. I have flight vouchers on United but the airfare from Richmond is just so expensive! His dad, Nelson, lives in Northern Virginia and fares out of DCA are more reasonable. However, I am going to wait until early March to book because my experience has been that fares around the 30 day mark are cheaper than six weeks out. I'm in Midlothian and can private message my information to you if you want to meet and chat about our wonderful soon to be sailors!
I received my first real letter from my son today! He says the food is "not bad" and he's having fun!
So happy to know he's doing good, but I knew he would be OK before he left.
The good news for all is that the mail is apparently flowing from 11/110 now so keep a close watch on the mailbox :-)
