My son left for Chicago on Jan 11th
when will we find out anything?
He called his wife at 4am and she missed the brief call :(

you or rather your daughter in law will get the "sailor in a box" and a short form letter...and that is it for about 3 to 4 weeks. It's tough, but there is reason in the way the Navy proceeds with our future sailors. Remember the mantra (not "on old Olympus' towering top.....") but "No News is Good News".
My wife just said this, she's on Navy Moms lol,
thanks
Been working a lot of Nights but I have managed to get some news
It seems that recruits are being sent home for trivial medical problems at times, the explanation has been they Navy has too many even recruits, and need to cut people?
I'm sorry if anyone here has had their CHild sent home, it really sucks
My son is still there but there are 2 weeks to go.
We made sure he was aware of how easy it is for him to be sent home, I know he does not want to leave but to succeed.
Also
He said in a letter to his wife he is not getting letters? We send one 6/7 days a week so we are at a loss
Its kinda funny my daughter left Feb 7nth. I thought to myself I will help her and write everyday, thinking this would be difficult .....not a snow balls chance in --LL. I am hitting that mail box every day like clockwork and I am starting on the next days letter already! LOL God bless our future sailors.
Yes yes the day to see PIR is approaching
My wife ( on Navy for Moms) is posting as I read here LOL
Bless all of them and us on our trips up there
Well it happened, My son did something and now he's PIR the following week
Ship 12 div 94
At least he was not shipped home
I have changed my plans accordingly
Ok everything is fine, My son is doing well and will PIR next Fri.
We have since found out a bunch got moved back for one reason or another.
My son said he has learned a lot and is looking forward to his Navy career
