Act of Valor
A MOTION PICTURE FEATURING ACTIVE DUTY NAVY SEALS
FEBRUARY 24
ACT of VALOR - REAL BULLETS
An unprecedented blend of real-life heroism and original film-making, Act of Valor stars a group of active-duty Navy SEALs in a powerful story of contemporary global anti-terrorism. Inspired by true events, the film combines stunning combat sequences, up-to-the minute battlefield technology and heart-pumping emotion for the ultimate action adventure.
Act of Valor takes audiences deep into the secretive world of the most elite, highly trained group of warriors in the modern world. When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home.
Each time they accomplish their mission, a new piece of intelligence reveals another shocking twist to the deadly terror plot, which stretches from Chechnya to the Philippines and from Ukraine to Somalia. The widening operation sends the SEALs across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border, where they engage in an epic firefight with an outcome that has potentially unimaginable consequences for the future of America.

It was pure awesomeness.
Just a personal comment- I read the book (which is the reverse of most movies - the book was written based on the screenplay) before seeing the movie. It brought more of the human side of the story, pieced together very well the different missions, and for all in the SWCC community really showed how the teams worked together.
I loved the movie (saw it Friday night), and will see it again with/when my son returns next month.
Thought I would post this- today I took retired Senior Chief, author of "Someone Like Me", and NavyDads member John Quinn to see the movie. John was attached to Seal Team 3 and has a good understanding of the SEAL community and dedication. This is what John posted this afternoon on Facebook
Saw the movie Act of Valor today with my friend and Navy Dad Paul Corona. I believe it put on full display the true professionalism of today's military forces while also showing today's Playstation Generation that war is not a game with a reset button. It was so nice to see some of my old stomping grounds such as the Imperial Beach Pier and Ocean Blvd in Coronado too!
Bravo John....thank you for your service to our great Country. HooYah !!!!
My wife & I have only gone to see one movie in the past few years & it was Act of Valor. I thought it was an awesome film. I plan to buy the movie when it comes out on DVD.
