If I am understanding your question. You are asking will you have time to spend with your son after Pir?

We had a great weeked with him.  We flew back Suday night as I recall they had to check in on  sunday by 6PM   We spent Friday after graduation, till Sunday with him,  they allowed him to stay at the hotel with us.  After 2 months of  not speaking to him, it was a nice change.

We recently had our PIR and after the event the men moved to their new location.  We were able to be together after about 3:00 on Friday until about 9:00PM.  He was with us all day Saturday and Sunday, but had to be back in his room by about 9:00PM both days.

He wore his uniform everywhere and that was a very special time.  So many people thanked him for his service.

They will stay in Great Lakes for Pre-BUD/S for 8 or more weeks before going to Coronado.

Does anyone have suggestions for good places to stay while attending PIR?

They know all about PIR weekends, had breakfast ready early, arranged for taxis for everyone,  Great experience, but there are plenty of good choices.
