Haven't herd anything from my son since the box came but I have booked my flight to Chicago and reserved my room for Graduation-5/18/2012 Hope to get my first letter soon he left 3/20/2012
Greetings...
According to the last info I received...about 2 weeks ago...my son is in this Division. I did see him running in one of the random photos...but otherwise I haven't heard from him. I'm traveling at the moment...so not home to check the mail...but I'd expect to hear from him anytime now...either by mail or by phone. Since I have no contact I don't know if they're receiving mail yet or not...but I do know it's a great boost for them once they do start getting it. Looking forward to seeing them all in PIR...
Glad to hear from you and that your son is in this Division.I have been looking at the photos that have been posted on Facebook and haven't seen Dalton yet that I know of but he could be in the background and not up front. We are still waiting on a letter from him.My wife writes everyday but I have only written him once and was waiting to hear back from him> He is in Div-927 and I believe him to be in the band.He plays the Trombone Thanks and Good Luck to you and Your Recruit Charles

Udate...just got back into town and had a letter in the mail from my son. He said they were allowed to write for the first time on Easter...but time is limited. So hopefully you'll also get something soon. He also said he's in the drum line...which probably isn't too far off from the trombones...so I'm sure they're jamming out together.
Great to hear that you got a letter from your son maybe I will have one today I miss my son alot but I know he is doing good much better than I did at nineteen Thanks Charles

Well I got home today and checked the mail and had 2 letters from my son and it made my day.He said he passed his phisical part and swimming. He was chosen to be an Honor Guard for 2 years and would be in Washington DC and would get a pay boost also,Sounds like the Navy was a great choice and he is not in the band but he is in the Flag Core and carries the Arkansas Flag. I sure feel alot better now Good Luck to all the recruits Thanks Charles
Hey...that's great news...outstanding! I've heard when they're in the band and Honor Guard they do get to travel and perform at a lot of cool things...like football games...baseball games...special ceremonies...etc. It's good duty...but it takes a lot of extra time and dedication for drill/practice. I didn't experience any of that when I was in so I don't for sure...but what I've heard about it certainly seems to make sense. Very glad to hear your son is on his way to lifetime success!
Got a call from my SR today. He was pretty upbeat and very glad to have made this decision. Halfway through now...he said the food is great...his Division has really good RDCs...and the SRs are starting to work together pretty well. Looking forward to PIR 5/18/12. It was really great to hear from him...
I got a call from my son Friday and he was sounding good about everything he said the hardest thing was folding everything. He said he will have 6 days leave before reporting to Washington DC so we are going to take Vacation in Chicago for 6 days and see the North part around the Great Lakes.Glad you got a phone call from your son and all was well. I am hoping for more letters this week when I had talked to Dalton he said he got mail everyday but could only send mail on Sundays. Take care and stay in touch and hopefully we can make graduation something to remember. Charles PS My son's name is Charles Faulkner also Dalton is his middle name

Awesome news...glad to hear he's got some leave and you'll get to hang out together. While you're in Chicago...if ya'll like pizza...check out Lou Minati's Pizzeria. There are 2 or 3 right around the base area and it is by far the best pizza I've ever had. My son mentioned he can only send letters on Sundays too. He also said it sure feels good when their name gets called for Mail Call. I told him I was talking to you online and your son's name...he knew right away who I was talking about. He said they're not in the marching band...but I think they're part of the flag bearing group. My son is on a snare drum and I think you said your son is carrying a state flag if I remember correctly...and I think they're both in that same group of performers. Not to be rude...but I can't state my name online right now...however...my son's first name is Ian. I'm sure we'll meet up at PIR. We're all booked for the trip and looking very forward to it. Only 27 days and counting down...woohoo!
Haven't herd from my boy since last phone call 2 weeks ago guess he is busy working on getting out of Bootcamp and own to PIR. Would like to get a letter soon and know all is OK still. I have all my reservations for PIR-5/18/2012 24 days and counting and looking forward to seeing him. Thanks Charles
