I heard I was supposed to be getting an e-mail with my passes or something for PIR. We are driving up and leaving Wednesday night. getting a bit worried.

Jerry I got this off or RTC site in regards to PIR:

Q. When will I receive tickets/passes to graduation?

A. There are no actual tickets or passes. Recruits list the names of up to four guests that will be included on the access list. Recruits cannot obtain additional “tickets” from other recruits.

I just wanted to clarify you're not talking about the gate pass (if you're driving your car into the base to park) are you?

I remember when we went this last November we had no tickets/passes either they checked our names off on a clipboard...

Parking pass is downloaded from RTC using the password you were sent on the form letter your sailor sent when he arrived at Great Lakes

Received letter yesterday but my son has three sister and instead of writing in their name he said he'd leave it up to us because he didn't want to make any of them feel bad He is only allowed 4 passes so His Dad and I and ... is  there a way to get an extra ticket?

Here's the link to the most up-to-date 'Pass In Review' (Graduation) Guest Policy: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

Can anyone let me know what hotels are near the graduation site?

Thanks

Bob

We have a Great Lakes lodging guide at this link: http://www.navydads.com/group/pirtipshintsandhelps/forum/topics/gre...

and note that in the PIR group we have a ton of links at the tope of the group page with lots of info and suggestions to make PIR easier.....suggest you attend Sarge's Meet and Greet as well....there is info in that area about the event

I have a question I am wondering if someone might be able to help with? Our son's PIR is 12/05, and due to the amount of divisions graduating that day, each SR is only allowed 3 guests to attend the ceremony. We have 4 from our family coming out to see our SR, with 3 going to the ceremony. My question is that we have heard that additional guests may be able to enter the base and watch a live feed of the PIR in the base Chapel, is this true? Since the guest who is not going to the actual ceremony isn't on the 'guest' list, will they be allowed onto the base, and would they just need identification such as a driver's license to do so?
If anyone can provide some insight on this it would be greatly appreciated, we just don't want to bring an extra person with us to the base the morning of the PIR & find out that they won't be admitted onto the base, and viewing the ceremony at the Chapel isn't allowed or done there. Thank you.

just a few days ago Jim posted this to a similar question:

This was a message I got from RTC:

"We ask that extra guests remain off base. But, if someone absolutely needs to come to the base, they will not be allowed into the Drill Hall for the graduation but, security will escort them to the Chapel."

This is only used in extreme cases where the extra guest has no where else to wait. Your extra guest should wait at the hotel and you can watch the ceremony right here on the front page of NavyDads.com

I am over-the-top, indescribably excited!
