My daughter said it was really nice.  They put her up there the night of her ASVAB since she had to go to MEPS in the morning.  We're about two hours away from Great Lakes.

Congratulations to you and your son!

Greg, my son Greg left for MEPS today from Glendora CA (LA area) also and flys out tomorrow too. I did not serve and our only experience was my dad telling him that when he went from Texas to San Diego to Nevada it was on trains in cattle cars during WWII. I think he is happy about some changes as well. Maybe they will meet up in Chicago. Good luck to you and your son! God speed Skippy!

Thanks Robin, How long has your daughter been in? Congrats

you both also.

Thanks Lon,  We have been a military family for a long time, my son making the 4th generation. I was a Marine, my father was a Marine (VietNam) and my grandfather was a Marine (WW2). Sure I would have loved that my son would have picked the Marines instead but I am equaly proud of him choosing the Navy. Of course he has been getting the normal teasing and banter from us Jarheads but we are all very proud of him. Good luck to you and your son also.

Let us know how he's doing once in a while Greg. Hilton Hotel...nothing but the best for our sailors! HOOYAH!

She's not in, yet.  She's still in high school, but will graduate (early) in December.  She'll head to boot camp in July.
