Navy Dads

This Discussion is intended as a place where parents and other loved ones who have SRs with a PIR of 30 November to gather and meet-and-greet and talk about this adventure.  Of course, I suppose anyone is welcome.

If anyone knows of others on facebook and navyformoms.com, please direct them this way, too.

Hopefully, this will be a place where we can share stories about phonecalls and letters from our SRs.

And I look forward, already, to meeting all of y'all at PIR.

Sincerely,

Scott

Attention on deck!

From RTC:

There will be FIFTEEN divisions graduating Nov. 30th. RTC is abiding by the policy that Active Duty/military retirees and children twelve and under do not count toward the 4 invitations each recruit receives. However, if an individual is not on the access list they will NOT be able to enter the drill hall (NO stand by). Please plan on arriving at least two hours before the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9 a.m. Thanks to all for your continued support of Recruit Training Command, the Navy's only boot camp!

Ok so we got a letter today from or SR  Logan. His ships is no longer 03 Div 21 it is  o4 Div 21   any one elses change ? He is very  home sick and down. I am a bit worried about him.

Yes he  did and it just broke my heart. I just want to hug him I know it would help.

Did he say what's got him down?

Donna....It is a HUGE adjustment from civilian to military life, and being homesick is just a part of the passage! Give your hugs through your letters. Write as often as you can....every one of them means the world to your SR and will help him along on his journey. Believe that most of our kids go through this and it is not easy by any means...just be as supportive as possible. You will soon see that he is adjusting to navy life. I wish you the best....

Tom he is just home sick and not used to being away from us for so long and he is not adjusting to well to being cussed at. I am sure he will do ok but I just worry and wish i could make it better.

Yes and if you have a sailor at boot camp your permitted to stay there. That is what the Navy lodge told me.
