My son is in A school at Fort Meade in Maryland (Mass Communications Specialist). I plan to visit him before he graduates in July. Booked the trip yesterday, now I cannot wait to see him again.
the climate in Maryland in July can be downright unpleasant.....just a warning
My son left for basic training on July 9th. He enlisted the summer before his senior year in high school as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate, ABH. He entered boot camp as an E-2 after recruiting his older brother who was attending college. My oldest son enlisted as a Nuke and ships out to boot camp in February 2014.
That's Awesome!

My daughter is based in Norfolk, VA. That was her first assignment after her PIR in 2012. She works in Law Enforcement on base since she is now currently pregnant, which moved her to shore duty (previously she was carrier-based). Her husband is also a sailor, based at NS Norfolk. I'm pleased with them both, and the great thing is that they are only 3 hours away from us!
It's always a treat to have your loved ones close to you... Awesome! ;)

Just a quick update... My son has returned to Pensacola from a short deployment in a Afghanistan FOB. He was serving as a corpsman for the Marines. Cant say it was a great experience for Mom and Dad here at home but he is safe and well.
God Bless! To all of those soldiers and sailors that are over there.
