We got ours to..  our son is on Ship 13 Div 37.

I posted on FB also, but my son Sean is also Ship 13/Div 038... so we're in this together with our boys!

Thats great Jay! I will be sure to share what we hear and I look fwd to talking with you. we mailed a ton of letters yesterday and cant wait to hear back.

My son Jonathan too is Ship 13 Div 38.

I look forward to talking with you and sharing information. we have not gotten a letter from our son yet but we are expecting it any day. we have heard some people from div 37 have gotten theirs yesterday!!!

Also a hearty welcome to the group, Sal! I actually got a call from my son, Sean, 2 days ago as he needed me to track down some info for his security clearance. It was mostly all-business conversation as he was short of time, but I did get a little peek at how things are going for div 38. He said that it was a 'tough' division meaning that the group was struggling a bit. And the best word I can describe how he sounded as 'weary'... But I gave him what encouragement I could and he said he thought he might be able to call us again this coming Sunday(!).... Hopefully that will give me more time to find out details.

I know that week 2 is supposedly one of the hardest for the groups, so it may be that he was referring to that and not that the group is struggling more than any other. When/if I hear from him this weekend, I'll update this thread.

We have mailed several letters so far, but also haven't gotten any back other than form letters for the PIR and the adopt a sailor program for Thanksgiving.

What rate is Sean? where will his A school be?

Have to admit not knowing what 'rate' means... but his A school is in Dam Neck, VA.

What is his job going to be...our son is going to San Antonio for Master at Arms A school.

Ah... Sean is going to Dam Neck for surveillance and that sort of thing... I forget what he called it.

technically that is "rating"..."rate" equates to "rank" which is used only for Navy officers.....
