Navy Dads

Anyone else at least in this round of recruits? I heard from Cody and he is in the same group but not sure what ship.

Edit-Still looking for people in this group.

My boy is on ship 14, but he is div. 54.  I was so bummed out, i had to work on Saturday and missed his first phone call home.  My wife said he sounded real home sick.

Oh wow, we are waiting for our first call home. He said two weeks and that's tomorrow but I'm not sure they actually mean two weeks to the day.

Waiting not so patiently for our phone call. Two weeks to the day but maybe that doesn't actually mean two weeks. Frustrating.

Had to edit again as we apparently had the wrong division number.

He finally called today, and I missed it. The wife got to talk to him though and he seems to be doing fine although home sick. I sure hope I'm home for the next call.

Does anyone know how the adopt a sailor thing works? He said he was looking forward to a chance at that for Christmas but I don't know if it's random or merit based.

You shouldn't  have to do anything if he is eligible. If you get a form indicating that he is eligible for the Christmas Adopt-A-Sailor program you will need to fill it out if you intend to Adopt him for the day. He may not be eligible since that should be for those in the 01/03/2014 and 01/10/2014 TG's

My grandson is ship 03 div. 063. We've received a few calls and things are going well. He had his wisdom teeth removed followed by 2 days rack time. Received a call last night and he's got pneumonia, don't know how that's going to play out.....he said that a lot of recruits are having health issues. Fingers are crossed.

Thanks Paul. We are actually on the other end it seems like he has a chance to be adopted for Christmas but we weren't sure how that works. Merit based or luck of the draw.

Charles, Our son also had a wisdom tooth pulled with a couple rack days which caused him to miss his first call home. So far no other illness I sure hope your grandson gets back in good health soon.
