Navy Dads

Sorry total newbie.......

Is the Navy Lodge at Pensacola somewhere I can stay to visit my daughter? And if so is this the best choice ?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can. On base, there is Navy Lodge and also a Gateway Inn. I have stayed in both while my son was in A school. The Navy Lodge is on the water, but is an older building, smelling a bit musty, and showing its age. But, clean and usable. It was full the first 3-4 times that I tried to stay. The Gateway Inn had rooms available every single time that I checked. It is in the middle of base, brick building looking on other brick buildings. But, newer, also clean and very usable. Both hotels are within a 1-2 minute drive of the A-school barracks. I have reserved both online. But, your sailor will need to be there when you check in to 'sponsor' your stay unless you are also military (any branch). When my son was in A-school (1-1/2 years ago) both hotels were still $69/night when any other hotel in Pensacola was $200+. I would stay in either again.
Here is a link to the Gateway Inn at NAS Pensacola. In my experience, it has vacancies when Navy Lodge doesn't.

Yes, you can make reservations but at check in your sailor must be there with you. It's on base, right on the sandy beach! It does fill up fast though, but is worth a try. I've also stayed at the Gateway which is a good plan B if the Lodge is full.

When I visited my son at Pensacola NAS last fall, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Select.  It was a bit of a drive, but I found that getting around Pensacola is really very easy regardless of where your hotel is.  Have a safe trip and a great visit.  Please thank your daughter for her Service.
