Navy Dads

HI. My daughter did not pass her las PFA prior to PIR.  She called home an told us she would be moved to another ship.  I wanted to know what happens next. Does she move directly to her "A" School or does she graduate with another class. Any infomration would be helpful.

Sounds like she'll be repeating the class in boot camp. As long as they give her another chance it's good!
My son's girlfriend failed her final PT test and did not graduate with her class. She was put in a holding division until she could pass it. She then had to wait for another A school class to start before she could go. To the best of our knowledge she did not have a PIR ceremony at all.
I wish her and you the best of luck
I disagree with the missing of the PIR ceremony. I believe EVERY recruit deserves to be recognized in front of their loved ones.

Agreed Wayne...but not sure that is how it plays out....

They are only recognized as a division- unless they are an award winner or honor grad they are not individually recognized and do not have their names called or announced.

She will graduate with another class, she will be in a hold until she does pass it and then will probably graduate with the next class. That is my thought at least, they wont let them graduate until the PFA is passed. That will delay her trip to A school as well. I know they do send students to A school and if it is in session then you will stand guard duty, clean ect until your class is set to start. Things have changed over the years but at least some of this is my guess. I have 2 more weeks until I attend a PIR, Oct 31, spec ops I am proud of this special forces sailor!!!!

Woohoo. Congrats. I remember my sons 800 div. they sure got a lot of attention as they marched in. Priceless! :)

It is my understanding that they are also close to being Hall of Fame Division as well that would be a double whammy... Talk about attention....

My son was just sent home about a month ago due to hurting his back and he just told me that they may send her home. One of the girls that went before him was sent home due to the same thing so I am not really sure what will happen. Sorry about the news but I guess they are getting real strict and picky there. My son also said they sent a kid home because he was too shy and did not want to "conform" sad thing was both his parents were Navy Officers  Bet that was a lousy home coming. Best of luck,,,,

Yes actually we had a triple whammy. They were hall of famers . Captains cup winners. And special ops! I think I started tearing when the crowd cheered for them before the ceremony. I was breathless. up to this day I still watch my sons grad video wow can't believe its been over a year and a half. He s now po4. And loving his diver career. Praying for great outcomes for everyone here. :).

wow thats great I would be watching the replay alot as well, thats cool. Diver hugh, mine is EOD.. As I said I still remember my time there as well, 1978 been awhile and alot has changed but it is still a Brotherhood>>>>I see some of those guys to this day and I am even a founder of an Assn of one of my ships.

Wow, thats awesome! :)
