Navy Dads

Finally got the first letter today!! 23 days after he left. He had 5 letters crammed into the little envelope! He says it is getting easier and he is getting the hang of things. He says they're getting a lot of IT because to many recruits in his division can't/won't work together as a team. He also said 3 Recruits got dropped couple weeks ago. He also said the food is very good. He sounds like he is doing well. Can't wait for the next phone call and letter! Only 36 more days!!!

Hi Chris,

Awesome news! We got a letter today as well, and got pretty much the same thing about others not getting it about working together. And he said the same thing that he's starting to get through the motions. He had me cracking up at his humor so I'm so relieved now. Past letters were kind of grim and we would send him encouragement to keep pushing forward and it be easier to cope and learn what they want them to do. 36 more days indeed! My sons on Ship 13 DIV 022.

Right on Chris.  I got my first envelope with three letters jammed in there as well.  Awesome stuff. Most of it was similar to the 1st phone call I got this past Sunday but it was still great to read through.  He didn't mention much about the division he's in but did say there were a couple of very cool guys who talked him through a couple of rough hours as he struggled with having lost someone close to us who passed away. Good to hear the brotherhood is there for him.  Sounds like he's passed his DEP, PFA and mentioned getting to his first class swim test (not sure what that means though...gonna have to look that one up). Just glad he's doing well and thriving.  36 days left...too awesome! Can't wait to see him at PIR! Congrats to all the parents who are getting their long awaited letters.  I agree with Jorge...it was nice to see some humor in my sons' letters...rubbing in for a full paragraph how his St. Louis Rams "RAMboozled" the Seahawks a couple weeks ago.  Glad that news made his day!
