Hello Sheryl, please relax... She is going through many changes, all of the recruits will experience some type of emotions through the journey ahead. I also know she is in the best of hands - the Navy will keep her busy and eventually the change will take hold. From your end, write every day and offer words of encouragement and pride - short letters are good. Before you know you'll be at graduation.
Rest assured Sheryl, it is normal. It is normal for both of you. And it is good for both of you. This is part of her becoming an adult and your letting go so that she can become and adult. I know your mother's heart aches because you see her in pain and want to make it all better. What you may not realize is that talking to you on that call helped her way more that you realize. I'll be praying for you both.
Blessings on y'all,
Gary
She'll be fine as will you! Keep the faith....RTC has moved more than 3 million sailors through their doors -they have a plan and it works!
When I got my second call I thought it sounded like my son was going to quit. I told him I loved him and believed in him and to stick with it and work hard. The third call he had turned 100% around. It just takes time for them to get used to it. I could hardly believe it was him that third time. If you need support you have definitely come to the right site. Give time and she will get better and so will you.
I just thought of this visit FACES OF BOOT CAMP on YouTube. It takes you from day one to PIR. Very good site and talks about homesickness ect.ect. You get to see how they train week by week. Good luck to you and your daughter and save your tears for PIR.
take the time to explore THIS site- http://www.navydads.com/forum/topics/boot-camp-videos-1
Our son arrived at boot camp yesterday - man it was hard to watch him go and see him fearful of what was about to come. We fee the same - although we are concerned we know he will come out of this stronger on the other side!
